Annual Recital
June 4th & June 5th at the DECC

DANCE RECITAL
The 2010 Madill Performing Arts Center dance recital will be split into two equal parts: Part 1 on Friday, June 4th and Part 2 on Saturday, June 5th. This year we will have a separate day for the dress rehearsal; Thursday, June 3rd from 4:30-9:30pm. Every class will have a specific dress rehearsal time so please watch for the schedule that will be available as we get closer to the recital. We will start the rehearsal with recreational classes and then competition classes afterword. This process should run faster than previous rehearsals, because we will not be adjusting for lighting at that time. I figure ten minutes per class on stage to run through their dance. Please be early for your time as we will not wait for anyone who is late, it throws off the whole schedule.

Both the show and rehearsal will be at the DECC Auditorium. For the performances, we are doing our best to keep families on the same day, but due to the large amount of students it is impossible to do this for everyone. I should have the list of who performs on which day before May 1st.

RECITAL FEES
Recital fees' are due May 1st, they include 5 tickets for $55. The fee is mandatory for every student participating in the recital. Families with more than one student in the recital are only responsible for one fee. Competition & families with student(s) in both the June 4th and 5th performances will receive 2 free tickets for the a second night (all tickets cannot be on the same night).

2010 ticket prices: 4-12 year olds $8.00 & 13 and up- $13(kids 3 and under are free if they can sit on a lap).

COSTUMES
Costumes have now started to come in. We do not have specific dates for when each costume will come in but all costumes will be in before pictures. We will hand them out in class the same week we get them. Please keep them safe. Do not wash them, wear them to school, or anything else you wouldn't expect people to do, but I wouldn't be mentioning them if they haven't happened in the past.

DANCE PICTURES
This years dance pictures will be taken on Saturday, April 24th. Pictures will take place in the dance studios. Order forms and picture packet options will be handed out in class at least 2 weeks prior and will also be available at: madilldance.com as of the second week in March. The schedule will be broken down into 10 to 20 min time slots per class, students should be there at least 15 min early.

A Q&A sheet about hair, makeup, tights, shoes, or accessories will be handed out in class and listed on our web site, as of the 2nd week of March. These and other important documents will be listed under the "Student Resource Center" on our web site.

There will be a dress rehearsal for non-competition classes: Monday, April 19th-22nd. Students should come dressed in their costumes with hair and makeup done.

SUMMER CLASSES
I realize it's time for parents to be getting your summer schedule in order. I am working hard on scheduling camps for this summer. As of right now, to the best of my knowledge, The camp will be the week of June 21st, after Grandmas marathon and the dance intensive will be the second and third week in August.

BAD WEATHER
In case of bad weather or if Duluth schools are ever cancelled, we will also be cancelled. If so this will be on our website, the phone message and the radio. We will also post makeup dates.

WHEN TO EXPECT SCHEDULES
Please watch for the picture schedule (what groups are at what times) and the recital and rehearsal schedule (which dances are on which night, June 4th or 5th and what is your rehearsal time on June 3rd). These schedules will be e-mailed to anyone who received this e-mail. These schedules will be available online, under the "newsletter" tab. We will also have schedules posted at the studio.

2010 COMPETITIONS
Madill Performing Arts Center will be participating in two dance competitions this season:
1) StarPower - April 30 thru May 2
2) Bravo! - May 14-16
